I’m Onnnnnn…

…a documentary kick.

I can’t get enough of them lately. I suppose this isn’t entirely a bad thing, I mean, at least I can learn some stuff from them as compared to Hollywood movies. Some of my favorites so far:

The King of Kong and a Fistful of Quarters: MUST SEE! Probably the best documentary I’ve seen so far. Great story and it the villain is sooo easy to hate.

Food Inc.: If you reeaaaalllly want to know where your food comes from, watch it. but beware, it can be kinda gross. Good nonetheless.

King Corn: Two guys from the city try to follow an acre of corn that they grow all the way to the consumer. Pretty cool idea and you learn a lot.

Exit Through the Gift Shop: this one is kinda cool because its about street art and graffiti. I liked it a lot when I first saw it but as I read more into the subject and learned more about the culture of graffiti, I started to dislike it. But its not that I disliked the movie itself, its a great story and is filmed awesome, I just started to dislike the idea of what takes place in the documentary.

I’ll be watching plenty more in the coming weeks and I’ll let you know what I think of them later.

Winter Breaks Are So Boring

I can’t wait to get back to class…wait…what?!

never thought I’d say that but its really true. This entire break has been ridiculous. I all I do is sit around, watch TV, play video games, and spend money. I’ve watched three seasons of How I Met Your Mother (its hilarious though, i recommend it!), a season of Californication, and I’m about to start the fifth season of Dexter soon. I’ve played so much Call of Duty that my thumbs hurt and I’ve over-drafted my bank account for the first and last time ever (my worst fear is having to worry about money).

I think my extreme lack of any motivation at all is a result of the lack of something to do. I can’t wait for school to start solely because I will have something to keep my mind wrapped around and have to work for. Its true that idle hands are the devil’s playground, and while i haven’t done anything devilish, maybe I am sitting and waiting for something devilish to happen or at least somewhat exciting.

But thats enough sitting and waiting time to go out and find excitement for myself!
